Mirrors & Images

Apparently, the root cause of one's miseries, or, at least what stops one from realizing one's full potential, is living in one's own image ... and, a true Guru, apparently, just holds mirror for the seeker to reflect on one's true image ... and, one could find the Guru in one's relationships with all things/beings, observing the reflections in the mirrors of relationships to understand one's true self ...

... seems, as each relationship is unique, each is a mirror of unique attitude and each reflection a unique perspective of the self ... some good, some bad, some ugly - all reflections of the self nevertheless ...

... seems, one chooses to love only those mirrors which reflects the image one has about oneself and loves to hate, reject, or even destroy the others !

is it because the few intimate mirrors one possesses reflect ones true self, more often than not, one struggles with those intimate mirrors of relationship ? and, craves for the distant ones?

... so, shouldn't one choose those mirrors the reflection from which deviate most from one's self-image, to understand one's true self as-is ?
